The draft voter list for the state has been made public, revealing a substantial growth of 1,77,695 voters. The new voter list boasts the addition of 5,58,821 voters to enhance its comprehensiveness. To ensure utmost accuracy, approximately 3,47,126 individuals' names have been removed.
The task of rectifying and perfecting the voter list has already commenced and will run until the 9th of this month. Simultaneously, the inclusion of names for new or first-time voters has commenced as well. Subsequently, the Election Commission will initiate a dedicated campaign on the 4th, 5th, 18th, 25th, and 26th of this month, along with December 23. The state Chief Electoral Officer's office has confirmed that the final voter list, encompassing all associated refinements, will be published on January 5 of the upcoming year.
These developments stem from the unanimous demand by all recognized political parties during an all-party meeting held on Tuesday, calling for a 100 percent error-free voter list.
